Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf - Parent-Infant Financial Aid Program
The Parent-Infant Financial Aid Program is for families of infants and toddlers ages birth through 3 who have been diagnosed with a moderate to profound hearing loss who are in pursuit of spoken language outcome for their child. Awards are intended to assist with expenses for services such as auditory support services, speech-language therapy, tuition, etc. Families should be committed to a listening and spoken language outcome for their child or children with hearing loss. This program is for individualsonly; organizations are not eligible to apply. Awards are made once a year, generally in the month of December. Award amounts vary; over the past three years, awards have ranged from $300 to $2,000.

Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI) Center for Hearing - Cochlear Implant Assistance Program
The CNI Center for Hearing helps qualified, financially challenged patients and their families obtain this life-enriching device by establishing the Cochlear Implant Assistance Program. Through a cooperative effort of Cochlear Americas, Advanced Bionics and Med-El, as well as a team of dedicated medical professionals, this program strives to assist qualified candidates needing cochlear implants. While the Cochlear Implant Assistance Program receives and awards no-charge implants, patients are still responsible for other costs associated with the procedure such as physician, hospital, anesthesiology, and audiological fees. The average out-of-pocket cost for candidates who receive an implant through the Cochlear Implant Assistance Program is approximately $10,000 - $20,000.

Through a cooperative effort of the CNI Center for Hearing, Cochlear Americas and a team of dedicated medical professionals, this program may be able to assist qualified candidates needing the Baha device. The Baha Assistance Program awards only the actual system itself (the internal and external components) - patients are still responsible for other costs associated with the procedure, such as physician, hospital, surgical, and audiological fees. The average out-of-pocket cost for candidates who receive a Baha device through the CNI Center for Hearing is approximately $10,000.

Foundation for Sight & Sound - Help America Hear Program
The Foundation for Sight and Sound provides hearing aids for men, women, and children with limited financial resources. This Program gives people the “Gift of Sound” by working in partnership with manufacturers and providers. Each eligible person receives: two hearing aids, custom ear molds and one year limited service. After an application fee (see Tier I and II below) the only expenses are the cost of the hearing evaluation and batteries. These costs are not paid to HAH.

Maryland Accessible Telecommunications (MAT)
MAT distributes free amplified phones, ring signalers, TTYs and other assistive devices to qualified applicants who have difficulty using the telephone. To qualify, applicants must be receiving one or more state or federal benefits or show that they have a limited income. Assistive Listening Device Loan Program
The Assistive Listening Device Loan Program enables people with hearing loss, as well as community organizations, to borrow the devices on a trial basis from county libraries. Two types of systems are available: Personal FM Systems for use up to 150 feet, and Wide Area FM Systems for use in larger spaces. Both systems are portable and come with simple instructions. They readily connect to all types of hearing aids and cochlear implants, and also work with ear-buds or lightweight headsets.

Texas residents with a hearing loss are eligible for a free amplified phone through the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP). If you believe you have a hearing loss, visit one of our locations for a FREE screening. Qualifying individuals will be provided with an application for an amplified phone, and we will mail in the application for you. In about six weeks, the state of Texas will send you a voucher in the mail for your phone. Bring in your voucher and you can pick out the phone that best fits your needs. A person with a hearing loss is eligible for a free amplified phone every five years. Only one is allowed per household.

The Cochlear Implant Program provides financial assistance to an eligible individual who is uninsured or to help offset the deductible or coinsurance for an individual with an insurance plan that covers cochlear implants. The program provides funding for the cost of the implant surgery for one ear or both ears, one or two implant devices, surgeon fee, hospital fee, the initial mapping and up to a maximum of 12 follow up mappings within one year post surgery.

Utah Assistive Technology Foundation
The Utah Assistive Technology Foundation provides low-interest loans to purchase assistive technology and telework devices and to start or expand small businesses. The UATF also offers small grants of $250 or less on a limited basis through non-federal funding to families who meet federal poverty guidelines.

Guam AT Recycling and Equipment Exchange Service
Guam System for Assistive Technology supports an online and call-in system that may be a source for "previously-owned" assistive devices, usually available at a lower cost than buying new. This service helps get used assistive technology devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, lifts, portable ramps, and other devices out of attics and garages and into the hands of people with disabilities that need them.

U.S. Veterans Administration
All World War I veterans are eligible to receive free hearing aids. Other veterans can receive free hearing aids if their hearing loss is at least 50 percent service-related. Veterans must first contact a V.A. medical facility near their home. The veteran’s health care act provides free TeleCaption decoders to veterans who have profound hearing loss that is service-related. The V.A. will also provide TTYs and telephone amplification devices to veterans with service-related hearing loss.

Travelers Protective Association Scholarship Trust for the Deaf and Near-Deaf
The Travelers Protective Association of America established the Scholarship Trust for the Hearing Impaired in Scholarship Logo1975 to provide financial aid to people who suffer deafness or hearing impairment and who need assistance in obtaining mechanical devices, medical or specialized treatment or specialized education as well as speech classes, note takers, interpreters, etc. and in other areas of need that are directly related to hearing impairment.
